Hi, I’m Sam.

I’ve been lucky enough to be creating and designing for over a decade. And in that time, I’ve worked for ad agencies, development firms, and large corporations handling everything from print and branding campaigns to UX design and even some frontend development.

My journey in design has been anything but a straight shot. I got my start as a writer after graduating from the University of Mississippi with a degree in journalism but quickly realized design was my true passion. At 24, I went back to school and received a second degree in fine art with an emphasis in graphic design from the University of Alabama-Birmingham. With the influx of new technologies, constantly evolving trends, and influential instructors, I turned an interest in “making pretty things” into a full-fledged passion for great design. I’m also a big believer in designing for good. I’ve had the privilege of working with several local organizations including the Cahaba River Society which won a Sappi Ideas That Matter Grant to help promote river stewardship and climate-resilient solutions.

My design aesthetic is clean and minimal to highlight the client’s message, not the art itself. As someone once said, “Design should never say, ‘Look at me.’ It should always say, ‘Look at this.’”

In my free time, you can find me exploring new places or throwing the frisbee with my THREE rescue dogs - Poe, Ziggy and Marley.
